INFORMATION FOR TEAM CAPTAINS
Amazing Race is here! Join the Race to Read the Bible in a year!
How to run the race:
•Each person needs to join or establish a team of no more than 10 members.
•Teams do not have to literally meet to read together, but encourage and hold each other accountable for reading the daily scriptures.
•The daily scripture readings will be posted in the Sunday bulletin.
•The objective is NOT to study in detail, but to read…read…read… Highlight, circle and make notes…. But KEEP READING!
•Teams can read ahead! (It’s a race! Some will go faster than others…)
•Work together as a team. Encourage your team by sharing stories and testimonies along the way.
Establish the Team:
•Establish a Team of no more than 10 members. Chose a Team name and captain, register the team, and pick up the reading schedule.
•The Team Captain will send an introductory email or text to the team and include:
•Each member’s name and contact info.
•Pit stop meetings information
•Remind team: Do not use search engines, concordances, commentaries or bible helps..
Team Captain’s Role:
•Keep team encouraged and informed.
•Answer questions about the race. (If you receive a question, send the question and answer to the entire team for clarification.)
•Lead Amazing Race pit stop team sessions.
Process for Answering Clues:
•Each first Wednesday of the month, each team will meet to pray, share testimonies and answer the monthly clues/questions that Pastor will provide on that night.
•The first Wednesday of the month will be the Amazing Race “pit stop”. Each team will meet to pray, share testimonies and answer the monthly clues/questions that Pastor will provide on that night. Team Captains: please encourage your team to be present.
